Ponds & Flowing Water

There's a restorative peace to be found at the water’s edge, where the only 'noise' is the hum of a dragonfly or the gentle babble of a woodland brook. Whether you are drawn to the calm of a still pond or the movement of a natural waterfall, our focus is on bringing the "wild" back to your garden. We create functioning ecosystems that don’t just look like nature, they behave like it.

Still wildlife ponds

For those who want to restore biodiversity through the power of nature, a still wildlife pond is the perfect way to do this. We use biology instead of hardware, using dense, strategic planting to create a self-sustaining ecosystem that helps keeps the water clearer and the habitat thriving. It’s a tranquil, still-water haven that invites frogs, newts, and birds to move in and stay.

Flowing ponds & streams

To create a babbling brook or a naturally inspired waterfall, we blend movement with solid structure. Using laser-guided surveys and specialist machinery, we can create significant bodies of water that feel entirely at home in the British landscape. From energy-efficient timed systems to repurposing excavated earth into wildflower mounds, we ensure nothing goes to waste and every ripple serves a purpose.

Beneath the wildflowers and reeds lies a concrete base, proper engineering that ensures no subsidence and a pond that will last for generations. You won’t find any ugly black plastic liners here, we cover every inch in hand-placed stone, wood, and natural materials. When we've finished this new structure it will feel like it's part of your landscape for years.

Wildife Gardens

Gardens built for nature

We specialise in creating natural, vibrant spaces where you can truly reconnect with the world outside your window. Emphasising nature restoration, we create places that attract wildlife by the hiveload. Whether you’re looking for a peaceful corner to enjoy your morning tea or a meadow that hums with life, we design gardens that feel like a breath of fresh air. Based in Leicestershire and Rutland, our family team focuses on building healthy, thriving habitats that only get more beautiful with every passing season. After all, what’s better than being surrounded by the natural world?

Maintenance

Helping your pond stay wild
We build our ponds to be self-sustaining, but even the best "wild" spots need a little help to keep the biodiversity booming. Think of us as an extra pair of hands to keep the water clear and the wildlife coming in.

We’re a family team based in Leicestershire, covering the East Midlands and Rutland, making sure your garden’s wild water feature stays healthy.

Whats included?

  • Tidy the habitat: We clear seasonal debris and manage plant growth to let the pond breathe.

  • Equipment Service: A comprehensive check and descale of your pumps and filters to ensure the hidden engineering stays robust.

  • Balance the ecology: We fine-tune the water chemistry with natural bacteria and dechlorinated top-ups, keeping the habitat healthy.

How often?

We offer three simple ways to stay on top of your ponds natural rythem:

  • Regular Check-in (May–Dec) | Recommended

This is the best package for your pond for blooming biodiversity, ensuring we can stay on top of surges in plant growth and algal blooms and keep the pond looking it's finest throughout the season.
A visit every 4 or 8 weeks.

  • Spring Service (March)

In this full service we check the hardware for wear and tear and get the biology ready for the sunshine. Replacing filter parts and pumps where neccessery.

  • Mid Season & Close Down Services

A visit in August and another in December. Perfect lighter service option to suit your garden budget, an expert eye to make sure everything is right as rain.

Renovation

Reinstating the rushing stream

Is your water feature looking a little less than "wild"? Ponds often lose their way, whether it’s a shifting bank, an ugly exposed liner, or a stream that’s lost its song to subsidence. We specialise in the sympathetic renovation of failing features, turning them back into natural ecosystems that actually work.

Most ponds fail because they lack the structure to stay put. We rebuild from the ground up with proper engineering, including a concrete base, to ensure your pond lasts for generations, not just a season. You won’t see any black plastic here; we cover every surface by hand in natural stone and wood until the man-made parts are entirely invisible.

But a pond is nothing without its natural balance, so we reinstate the biology alongside the stonework. By using dense native planting and strategic rock placement, we create a habitat where beneficial bacteria thrive and the water stays clear. The goal is for your stream to look like it’s been part of the British landscape for centuries. Once the new structure is settled, it isn't long before the newts and frogs move back in.

customer testimonials

Testimonial

Mr & Mrs Gallagher

"because of how good Harry is, and his devotion to what he's trying to achieve, I have recommended him to quite a few people, and would continue to recommend him because of the quality of what he does, the dedication and the aim he is going for, which is much more natural finish rather than something just obviously man-made"

Testimonial

Mr & Mrs Gallagher

"With regard to his aftercare what will tend to happen is Harry comes and says to me look I have a new plant here that would do better than that, so whilst he's looking after and trimming and making sure that these plants are in the best way they should be in that form, he then will suggest 'why don't we put something else in' so it's constantly changing, but not massively, just enough to maintain interest."

Testimonial

Mr & Mrs Baker

"We've also had them back to do some of the pond maintenance and to help us to make sure it's established properly and to just get the best out of it which I think we found quite valuable. Things come up like weed overgrowth or whatever it is, and it has been great to have that reassurance of the knowledgeable people to come in help us. They come with recommendations as well and suggestions so you know how to proceed. That's how I think the pond will keep on developing as well, through that relationship with them."

Testimonial

Mr & Mrs Baker

"People come to the house don't they, and the first thing they say is wow your pond! It's a very peaceful environment and the pond feeds that you know. We wanted a beautiful wildlife pond attracting bugs and insects and wildlife and something beautiful to look at and that's exactly what we've got. Yeah I'd highly recommend them, really good really good to work with."
